Books like My name is Will by Jess Winfield
Willie Shakespeare Greenberg, a struggling graduate student at UC Santa Cruze, is pulled into a dangerous job delivering a massive psychedelic mushroom to a mysterious collector during the Reagan‑era War on Drugs. His attempt to earn money and prove himself intersects with the life of future playwright William Shakespeare, who, at eighteen, teaches Latin in rural Stratford‑upon‑Avon and is entrusted with a sacred relic from Rome amid persecution of the Old Faith. Through a series of misadventures—law encounters, relationships, and mind‑altering experiments—the lives of the two Shakespeares mysteriously intertwine, suggesting that bold choices in both timeframes could influence not only their personal destinies but also the course of history.
