Books like Skin and Other Stories by Roald Dahl

Skin and Other Stories brings together thirteen of Roald Dahl’s most celebrated short stories, many of which are known for their clever twists and dark humor. Stories such as "Lamb to the Slaughter," in which a clever woman turns a frozen leg of lamb into a deadly weapon, and "Skin," which exposes the sinister side of human curiosity, demonstrate Dahl’s mastery of the adult short story format. The anthology also includes tales featuring art dealers racing to possess a mysterious painting that bears a tattoo on a poor man’s back, as well as other narratives that blend crime, suspense, and black comedy. Each tale delivers a surprise ending that keeps readers spellbound. Aimed at teenagers, the collection serves as an introduction to Dahl’s adult fiction, offering a compelling bridge between his children’s tales and the more complex stories he is celebrated for worldwide.
