Books like Tailing a Tabby by Laurie Cass

In the sunny lake town of Chilson, Michigan, librarian Minnie Hamilton brings books to residents on her trusty bookmobile, accompanied by her faithful rescue cat, Eddie. When a woman in distress is alerted, Minnie and Eddie escort the woman's husband—a renowned artist—through the town to emergency care. Even as the artist receives treatment, fate intervenes: he disappears from the hospital, and the next discovery is a slaughtered woman lying beside the abandoned car. With the victim’s broken body and the artist’s untimely disappearance, evidence points at this innocent man, but Minnie knows he is a victim of circumstance. Driven by her sense of justice and armed with the clues found in the bookmobile’s quiet corners, Minnie and Eddie dive into a mystery that will take them across town—and deeper into human secrets—until the real killer is revealed and justice is served before the next chapter can be checked out.
