Books like Kushiel's dart by Jacqueline Carey

In the paradisiacal land of Terre d'Ange, a young servant named Phèdre nó Delaunay bears a scarlet mote in her left eye, a mark that signals her destiny. Sold into indentured servitude, she is bought by the noble Anafiel Delaunay, who recognizes her as one of the chosen few—those pricked by Kushiel's dart and destined to experience pain and pleasure in equal measure. Phèdre is trained in the courtly arts and the secrets of the bedchamber, becoming a masterful observer, memory keeper, and skilled spy. As she navigates the dazzle and danger of royal courts, she uncovers a conspiracy that threatens the very foundations of her world. Her journey is one of love, honor, and betrayal, forcing Phèdre to confront a Machiavellian villainess and to decide whether to sacrifice everything to save the realm she holds dear.
