Books like A true princess by Diane Zahler

Lilia, a twelve‑year‑old girl, sets out north to find the family she has never known, traveling with her friends Kai and Karina and their dog, Ove. The adventure becomes fraught with danger when the trio is lost in Bitra Forest, the domain of the Elf King. The story is reminiscent of Hans Christian Andersen’s "The Princess and the Pea" and explores themes of friendship, identity, and heroism. Set against a backdrop of mythical journeys and magical encounters, the tale follows young protagonists as they navigate unfamiliar terrain, confront unseen perils, and learn to trust one another in the face of uncertainty. The story invites readers to consider what makes a true princess and the nature of personal discovery. With its blend of youthful adventure, fairy‑tale elements, and philosophical questions about identity, "A True Princess" challenges readers to explore what it means to find one’s place in an unpredictable world.
