Books like Mortal by Ted Dekker

The Books of Mortals. Three novels. Two authors. Centuries have passed since civilization's brush with apocalypse. The world's greatest threats have all been silenced. There is no anger, no hatred, no war. There is only perfect peace...and fear. A terrible secret was closely guarded for centuries: every single soul walking the earth, though in appearance totally normal, is actually dead, long ago genetically stripped of true humanity. A second novel in the saga penned by Ted Dekker and Tosca Lee, 'Mortal' explores the world where people are actually dead, long ago genetically stripped of true humanity, in a terrifying, medieval future where grim pageantry masks death and dark desires drive the story of a world teetering on the brink of annihilation and survival. It is set against the backdrop of forbidden love, betrayal, and the power of a blood-based potion that has given Rom Sebastian a new life, but has also made him the first of a secret faction of Mortals in a world where every single soul is actually dead, long ago genetically stripped of true humanity.
