Books like Wedding night by Sophie Kinsella

When Lottie finally recovers her voice, she discovers that her former boyfriend, Ben, still remembers the pact they made as teenagers: if either of them were still single at thirty, they would marry at once. Momentum runs high, and Lottie rationalizes that a wedding without a long engagement and no dates would thrum with signals they still share. The couple plan a hastily arranged nuptial ceremony and a honeymoon on the Greek island where the romance began. However, the reaction of their families and friends becomes a series of hilarious and heart‑tugging interventions. They gamble that if Lottie and Ben both stubbornly pursue the scheme, they might break the expectations of marriage they once deemed rational. The story explores the recalcitrance of being a single woman in her 30s and the rebellion, humor, and romance that crops up when two partners decide to celebrate their joyful past by joining their lives in the future. A laugh‑at‑the‑same‑time comic narrative about contemporary weddings and the pressure that wedding parties, family expectations, and the idea of "completeness" apply. In the end, Lottie and Ben must decide if the swift wedding and honeymoon envisioned is truly fit for their life plans and if the plan they both envisioned undertake final broadcasts just to make the qualities that made them love each other. The book is a recommendation for readers looking for light reading about happily inclined engagement, romance, and milestones in a woman’s life.
