Books like Slash by Slash (Musician)

Born in England and raised in Los Angeles, Slash grew up amid the bustling music scene of the early 1970s. A scarred guitar in his grandmother’s closet sparked a lifelong passion that led him to form the iconic band Guns N’ Roses with Axl Rose, Izzy Stradlin, Steven Adler and Duff McKagan. The book offers an inside look at the band's formation, the creation of landmark albums such as *Appetite for Destruction* and *Use Your Illusion I & II*, and the intense touring life that pushed the group to the pinnacle of rock fame while testing their personal limits. Throughout his career, Slash confronts addiction, legal disputes, and volatility, eventually finding stability through subsequent projects like Slash’s Snakepit and Velvet Revolver. His narrative blends hard‑earned lessons, intimate friendships, and the relentless drive that defined a generation of rock music.
