Books like Die Therapie by Sebastian Fitzek

Dr. Viktor Larenz, a prominent Berlin psychiatrist known for his TV appearances, is devastated when his twelve‑year‑old daughter Josy vanishes during a routine check‑up at his office. Tormented by guilt and determined to find her, he abandons his career and marriage in a relentless search. Four years later, trapped on a storm‑ridden island, he encounters Anna Spiegel, an enigmatic children's author whose own writing seems to manifest. She insists on therapy, claiming that her characters, especially one who bears a striking resemblance to Josy, are threatening to escape reality and cause harm. As their sessions unravel, Viktor must confront the possibility that Spiegel’s hallucinations stem from a schizophrenic mind or hide clues vital to uncovering his daughter's fate. "Die Therapie" blends psychological suspense with thriller elements, exploring themes of parental grief, the fragile boundary between imagination and madness, and the obsessive pursuit of truth.
