Books like Theodosia and the Staff of Osiris by R. L. La Fevers

During a museum reception, Theodosia, a young librarian, encounters Mr. Tetley of the British Museum— a meeting that hints at the return of the Serpents of Chaos. Tasked with cataloging forgotten artifacts in the museum’s catacombs, she is drawn into a mystery involving missing mummies that appear throughout London and the Museum of Legends and Antiquities. As rumors grow and her father faces scrutiny, Theodosia must balance caring for unwanted mummies, uncovering the Schemes of the Serpents, and evading a series of governesses who seem to be watching her every move. With the help of Sticky Will—whose own secrets add complexity—she confronts secret societies, curses, and dark magic that threaten the heart of Britain. The novel blends adventure, family loyalty, and fantasy, showing Theodosia’s growing skill and cunning as she navigates a labyrinth of conspiracies, magical artifacts, and ancient Egyptian influences within an urban museum setting.
