Books like Star Trek New Frontier - After the Fall by Peter David

In *After the Fall*, the USS Excalibur’s crew has changed dramatically since the events of *Stone and Anvil*. Captain Elizabeth Shelby has earned promotion to admiral and commands Space Station Bravo, while her former ship, the USS Trident, operates under a new captain. Meanwhile, Soleta, a former Starfleet officer, leaves the service to explore her Romulan heritage, and Zak Kebron takes on the dual roles of counselor and head of security aboard the Excalibur. Outside Starfleet, Si Cwan, prime minister of the New Thallonian Protectorate, arranges a politically advantageous marriage for his sister Kalinda. Just before the ceremony, Kalinda is abducted, a stunt that rattles the entire sector. The Abductor—an old adversary—appears to be targeting the new Thallonian empire, while a mysterious alien intelligence may be manipulating events behind the scenes. With the Excalibur, the Trident, and the Thallonian fleet racing to restore order, the crew confronts the possibility of a long‑forgotten enemy threatening the galaxy.
