"Trust No One" follows famous crime novelist Jerry Grey, known by readers as Henry Cutter, as he battles early‑onset Alzheimer’s. The disease erodes the boundary between his life and the brutal plots he has crafted, leading him to confess that the crimes he has written may have actually occurred. Now living in a care home, Grey struggles to prove whether the deaths around him are the product of his memory or a darker truth. The novel explores the psychological turmoil of a writer confronting dementia while interrogating the ethics of storytelling, the reliability of memory, and the thin veil that separates author from character. Amid tense suspense, readers are challenged to determine when fiction becomes reality. Critics praise Cleave’s dramatic narrative, noting the book’s ferocious storytelling and unsettling psychological depth.
