Books like Into the woods by Nancy E. Krulik

At Camp Einstein, a science-focused wilderness retreat, sixth and seventh graders from Joyce Kilmer Middle School are thrust into a shared cabin experience. The housemates—Jenny, Chloe, and Sam—face new challenges as they navigate living quarters with Addie and Dana. Tensions rise when Jenny is paired with Addie for trust exercises, prompting the group to confront differences, build friendships, and grow through shared adventures in the woods. The story follows the characters as they confront interpersonal conflicts, discover the value of teamwork, and learn how to reconcile varying personalities in a setting that emphasizes both learning and camaraderie. Throughout the week, the campers’ interpersonal dynamics test their ability to adapt, communicate, and ultimately thrive in a supportive community surrounded by nature and science.
