Books like Anytime Mapleson and the hungry bears by Mordicai Gerstein
Anytime Mapleson, a cheerful child who loves pancakes at any time, finds himself in the heart of a forest when a family of hungry bears wanders into the woods during the peak of maple sugaring. Seeing their hunger, he invites them over to his home, offering a warm kitchen and a generous helping of pancakes smothered in rich maple syrup.
The bears, delighted by the inviting aroma, gather around the table with twinkling eyes and wagging tails. They laugh and share stories while Anytime enjoys the special treat he’s known for, proving that kindness can bridge worlds as naturally as maple sap flows.
By the end, the forest spirits rejoice in the shared meal, and Anytime learns that even the most unexpected friends can become part of a cozy family,
while the winter trees still hum with the soft rhythm of maple sap and breakfast songs.
