Books like The Rebels Of New Sun A Blending Time Novel by Michael Kinch

In a dystopian 2069, seventeen‑year‑olds are conscripted into the Global Alliance’s grueling work assignments, ranging from arduous labor to perilous canal work. Amidst the devastation wrought by plagues, environmental collapse, and a catastrophic solar flare, three teens—Jaym, Reya, and D'Shay—believing themselves fortunate, are selected as part of the first generation of blenders tasked with repopulating and repairing Africa. The continent, however, is wracked with civil war and hunted by mercenary forces determined to destroy the blending initiative. Separated during the chaos, the trio must navigate violence, survive harsh conditions, escape from mercenaries, and ultimately reunite. Their journey leads them to rumors of a mountain hideout that may offer sanctuary—or peril. This novel blends science‑fiction staples with survival themes, highlighting the harsh reality of a post‑catastrophe world and the bonds of friendship that sustain the young protagonists as they confront both outer dangers and internal resilience.
