Books like I Wish You All the Best by Mason Deaver

Ben De Backer’s life turns upside down when, after coming out as nonbinary, their parents eject them from home. Handed over to their estranged older sister Hannah and her husband Thomas—whom Ben has never met—Ben must adapt to a new family, a new school, and the compounded anxiety of rejection. In the new setting, Ben’s attempt to keep a low profile is disrupted by Nathan Allan, a charismatic student who steers Ben toward friendship and new possibilities. As their bond deepens, feelings evolve, offering Ben a chance for a hopeful new chapter despite the lingering challenges of homophobia, misgendering, depression, and anxiety. The story balances heartfelt moments and resilience, portraying the joy of new connections and the strength required to confront adversity while celebrating identity, friendship, and love.
