Books like Temptation of the Warrior by Margo Maguire

Merrick Mac Lochlainn, newly crowned high chieftain of his clan, faces the dilemma of saving his people from a great evil by traveling almost a millennium forward in time. He awakens in 19th‑century England, disoriented and unaware of his original mission. In this unfamiliar era, he discovers Jenny Keating, a spirited young woman who claims to be his wife. Jenny, an orphan on the run from a cruel headmaster, has never imagined encountering a chivalrous warrior like Merrick. Drawn to his strong presence and mysterious aura, she participates in a dangerous deception by posing as his beloved, yet her feelings for him grow genuine. Together they confront a dark threat that endangers both their lives while their growing attraction threatens to consume them. The story blends historical romance with speculative time‑travel elements, centering on a battle between destiny and desire amid the backdrop of 19th‑century England.
