Books like Unsent letters by Malcolm Bradbury

In *Unsent Letters*, Malcolm Bradbury, noted lecturer, author, and cultural commentator, compiles a series of imaginary correspondences that respond to the endless demands of students, colleagues, and fans. From a plea for assistance with a campus‑novel thesis to inquiries about adapting classics for television, Bradbury’s letters humorously cover a wide array of academic and creative situations. The book includes playful exchanges about meeting hostile students, questioning another writer’s identity, and navigating the world of television production. Alongside these lighter vignettes, Bradbury offers scathingly funny takes on structuralism, educational reforms, and other pressing literary debates. The collection serves both as a parody of academic bureaucracy and a self-deprecating alternative to a traditional autobiography.
