Tom Gates is gearing up for a hustle of school events: a big dance, a sports day fair, and his own birthday all set to converge. With a math lesson on his mind, a troublesome friend named Marcus Meldrew to contend with, and Granny Mavis threatening to bake a carrot cake, Tom must keep his cool. To add to the chaos, his dad volunteers to deejay the dance in a wacky costume from his new job. Yet, Tom’s big sister Delia will not be attending the festivities, giving him a small relief. Tom’s face‑painting talent and his love of drawing become crucial as he tries to make the day seriously amazing.
