Books like Fire Me by Libby Malin

Anne Wyatt has had enough of a dysfunctional office: inept colleagues, a capricious manager, and relentless deadlines. When she walks in with her resignation in hand, she learns her boss is planning a lay‑off. Instead of handing in her resignation, Anne hatches a scheme to make herself an easy target for dismissal, hoping to secure the severance package that comes with it. Throughout the day, her chaotic plans are fueled by humor, bold strategies, and the encouragement of Ken, the handsome graphic designer in the next cubicle. Ken, too, is looking for a way out of corporate monotony. Together, their antics spiral into a comedic dance of workplace survival, romance, and a reevaluation of priorities. By the end, Anne and Ken must decide what truly matters in life, why they endure their current grind, and what can be discarded without hesitation.
