Books like A shiver of light by Laurell K. Hamilton

Meredith Gentry, formerly a private detective, now lives as a full‑time princess on her Western‑Lands estate in Los Angeles. She discovers she is carrying triplets—a pregnancy that ties her lineage to ancient fertility goddesses and threatens the fragile peace between human and faerie realms. When the high courts of faerie summon Merrys family home, nobles from both courts vie for the chance to have children. Taranis, king of Light and Illusion, has already crossed a line: after seducing and then raping Meredith, he claims one of the unborn babies is his, demanding visitation rights he cannot prove. To safeguard herself, her family, and the human world from a possible war, Meredith must draw upon the most perilous forces of faerie: a god of death, a warrior known as the Darkness, the Killing Frost, and a king of nightmares. These unlikely allies help her face the courts’ wrath while keeping human lives intact.
