Books like The war of the ember by Kathryn Lasky

The Great Ga'Hoole Tree, once a bastion of owl harmony, has been torn by the strange and unpredictable Striga, a blue owl unlike any other. With Nyra, the feared leader of the Pure Ones, either gone or in hiding abroad, the tree floats on a precarious peace. Life, learning, and the arts suddenly flourish, sprouting across the owl kingdoms like a fresh spring. Yet this renewed prosperity masks looming tensions and the possibility of ancient rivalries erupting anew. The story follows these young owls as they navigate a world where allegiances shift and where the line between good and evil blurs. Key to the narrative are themes of exile, leadership, and the complex dynamics of power and order. The owl kingdom’s culture—rich with its own vernacular and governance—underpins a tale that explores identity, morality, and the responsibilities that come with control over a world. Set in a vividly imagined fantasy realm, the book blends imaginative warfare, political intrigue, and the personal growth of its characters.
