Books like The Night Tourist by Katherine Marsh

Jack Perdu is a shy, ninth‑grade Classics prodigy whose life takes an unexpected turn after a serious accident. Relocated to a nameless doctor’s clinic in New York City, he discovers the city’s hidden, ghostly layers. With the help of Euri—a young, enigmatic girl—Jack ventures into the secret passages and forlorn corridors beneath Grand Central Station, uncovering a world where the dead mingle with the living. Together, they navigate the strange, underground realm, raising questions about mortality, identity, and the bonds that tie them. The novel weaves elements of Greek mythology, featuring Orpheus and Eurydice, into its contemporary urban setting, drawing parallels between ancient tales and modern urban legends. As Jack and Euri explore the city’s forgotten spaces, they confront grief, fear, and the mysteries that linger in the shadows of their surroundings.
