Books like Colorado dawn by Kaki Warner

Maddie Wallace, having married a Scottish cavalry officer after only a few letters, abandons the marriage to take up a freelance assignment from a London periodical to photograph the American West from a female perspective. After traveling from England, she establishes herself as an independent photographer in Colorado. Angus Wallace, her husband, returns to find her gone, his family devastated, and himself next in line for an earldom. He sets out across the Atlantic to locate her, discovering her in Heartbreak Creek, Colorado, where he must persuade her to return with him to become his viscountess. Their struggle unfolds amid statehood struggles, claims disputes, and railroad conflicts that test their affection. News of Angus’s inheritance forces them to decide whether to stay in Colorado’s rugged mountains or return to London’s glittering ballrooms, weighing duty against desire.
