Books like The pink jacaranda by Juliet Shore

From front flap of dust jacket: The two Warwick sisters could not have been more different - Catherine, the elder, being quiet and thoughtful, Jenny, the younger, as selfish as she was pretty. Typically, when Jenny acquired a pen-friend, Nick Faraday, in far-off Kenya, she persuaded Cathy to write the letters for her - though neither of them paused to consider what the consequences might be. Until Nick, becoming more and more fascinated by the charming personality that was revealed in the letters, invited Jenny to go out to Kenya for a holiday, with a view to marrying him eventually. But Jenny had just been injured in a car crash - so it was Cathy who went to Kenya after all. She found Nick still determined to marry her sister. Should she try to explain that his idol had feet of clay - or just leave him to be disillusioned ?
