Books like The forgotten by Heather Graham

In Miami, a woman named Maria Gomez is found murdered. The death seems to involve her husband, who many believed was killed by a crime boss. FBI agent Brett Cody, who had been tasked with protecting the Gomez family, is baffled by the evidence and haunted by guilt. A few miles away, Lara Mayhew starts a new job at a dolphin research facility. After a dolphin brings her a human hand, she confronts a series of uncanny discoveries: additional body parts, a dismembered corpse that turns out to belong to Miguel, and rumors of zombies circulating in the local press. The case draws in the Krewe of Hunters, an elite FBI unit specializing in paranormal investigations. Brett and Lara team up, feeling a growing connection as they unravel the tangled clues. The investigation forces them to confront an elderly crime boss with memory loss—its significance linked to the case but lacking an obvious motive. As the duo delves deeper into Miami’s underworld, they must protect themselves and each other from the supernatural threat behind the murders.
