Books like Mrs. Malory and a time to die by Hazel Holt

Charlie and Jo Hamilton run the popular riding school that serves as the heart of the quiet English town of Taviscombe. When Charlie is found dead in his own stables, the community is left stunned by a shocking and suspicious death. Mrs. Sheila Malory, a seasoned veterinarian and resident sleuth, takes up the case as the first in a series of troubling deaths. Her investigation follows a trail of clues, from an unlucky horseshoe to a lethal electric fence, proving the mystery is far from a straight path. With the peaceful town on edge, Malory must untangle the web of evidence to uncover the truth behind the murders. The story blends the intimacy of small‑town life with the tension of a detective thriller, featuring a strong female protagonist who uses her knowledge of horses and medicine to solve a series of crimes that threaten the very fabric of the community.
