Books like Meet the Earl at Midnight by Gina Conkle

Lydia Montgomery, a headstrong young woman who has spent her life devoted to art and refuses the trappings of high society, is abruptly uprooted when her mother falls into poverty. In a desperate bid to secure Lydia’s future, her father arranges a betrothal to the famed yet reclusive Lord Greenwich, known in London circles as the "Enigma Earl". Greenwich is a figure of intrigue—his face never seen in the public eye, and his notoriety only deepening with every whispered rumor about the secrets he keeps. Lydia, trained in the polite arts of a lady but unbothered by corsets and courtship, must decide whether to embrace the traditional path of marriage or stay true to her artistic dreams. As she confronts Lord Greenwich, she learns that beneath the mythic facade lies a complex man, and both must decide if their hearts will outpace the social conventions that bind them.
