Books like Star of the sea by Gail Donovan

In the small, coastal town of Emberton, Miss Octavia Cuttle brings the magical tale of the Rainbow Fish to life in her elementary classroom. The drama club prepares a collective performance that invites every child to contribute. In the midst of rehearsals, Pearl, the younger twin, feels compelled to separate herself from her sister Rosie, who has always occupied the same bright blue spot in their lives. As the ensemble explores the story’s themes—shared color, generosity, and individuality—Pearl discovers that her desire to be distinct can be fulfilled through empathy and creative expression. The production becomes a lesson for the entire school, demonstrating that standing out does not require isolation, and that true individuality emerges when one believes in one’s own talents and the collective joy of storytelling.
