Books like Night Tree by Eve Bunting

Each year, a close-knit family turns into a bustling workshop as they decorate an evergreen tree with food for the nearby forest animals. The tradition of filling the tree with treats during Christmastime brings the family together, weaving values of kindness, generosity, and appreciation for nature into their holiday routine. The setting—amid the picturesque forest—underscores the importance of stewardship and community, making the story a gentle reminder of the simple acts that nurture both human bonds and the wilderness. The narrative highlights the family's collaborative effort, the creatures it supports, and the enduring connection between home and the natural world. Through this ritual, the book illustrates how a small, festive act can strengthen family ties and deepen respect for all living beings.
