Books like The case of the beautiful beggar by Erle Stanley Gardner

Daphne Shelby arrives in Los Angeles after a three‑month vacation to find a letter from her uncle, Horace Shelby, along with a check for $12,500 that asks her to meet Perry Mason and withdraw the money from the bank. However, when Mason and the young woman go to the bank the account has been drained. The case deepens when Daphne learns that her uncle’s half‑brother, Finchley, and his wife have drugged and committed Horace to a psychiatric facility. Finchley claims that Daphne was an illegitimate daughter of an old housekeeper, which led a court to appoint him as conservator of Ridgefield’s wealth. Daphne’s home is seized, and she is forced to leave. Perry Mason, accompanied by his diligent secretary Della Street and his astute friend, detective Paul Drake, investigates the disappearance of Horace and the sudden loss of Daphne’s property. Together they trace the legal and financial twists that threaten to destroy Daphne’s future.
