Books like Heaven Knows by Elaine Coffman

Lizzle Robinson, a vivacious youth with grand dreams, is instantly smitten by Travis Mackinnon, the charismatic gentleman of Nantucket. Their flings and flirtations quickly stain Lizzle’s reputation, sending her into exile in Boston for the purpose of taming. Once returned, she has transformed into the composed Elizabeth and re-enters Travis’s world, whose eyes now see her beauty and elegance. A marriage, forged under duress, pulls them apart, and Elizabeth must learn to live without him. But the very same man who abandoned her on her wedding night reappears on a sandy shore, and the arc of his bitterness toward love takes an unexpected turn. Obsessed with a woman he cannot forget, Travis is determined to reclaim her, willing to do whatever it takes to prove that the love he once discarded can still endure.
