Books like Awaiting the Moon by Donna Lea Simpson

Elizabeth Simpson, a confident and resourceful tutor, comes to the mist‑shrouded Wolfman Castle with a mission: to shape the Count’s young niece into a suitable bride for an English earl. The journey is not only a test of her professional skill but also a challenge to her resolve, as rumours of wolves stirring in the forest drift alongside family tensions that ripple within the castle walls. Amidst eerie howls and an uneasy climate, Elizabeth finds herself drawn to Count Nickolas von Wolfram, whose charm threatens to override her steadfast prudence. As she navigates romance, tradition, and the dark folklore of the woods, she must balance her own impulses with the responsibilities of her charge. Set in a gothic romantic backdrop, the novel explores themes of duty, desire, and the supernatural undercurrents that permeate an isolated aristocratic estate.
