Books like Nightmare Hall #1 Silent Scream by Diane Hoh

High on a hillside overlooking Salem University, Nightingale Hall—students simply call it Nightmare Hall—belies a history of terror that still haunts its rooms. Jess, an eager first‑year, believes her off‑campus dorm will be just another episode of college life, but the house’s silence speaks louder than any rumor. She learns that the previous occupant, Giselle, allegedly took her own life by hanging in Jess's own room—though the reputation of the hall makes her question whether it was suicide or murder. As old screams echo through the corridors, Jess struggles to keep her head above the mystery and decides whether to confront the house or escape it altogether. The book blends the atmosphere of campus folklore with the suspense of a mystery thriller, underscoring how even familiar places can hide unsettling secrets.
