Books like Satanic ritual abuse by Colin A. Ross

Satanic ritual abuse (SRA) has been a subject of intense debate, with initial doubts about its existence paralleling early questions surrounding child sexual abuse. In his comprehensive work, Dr. Colin A. Ross—an experienced clinician in dissociative disorders—examines the growing body of evidence suggesting that ritual abuse does occur. Drawing on his experience with more than 300 patients who report memories of SRA, Ross provides a careful analysis of the psychological, social, and historical aspects of the phenomenon. He maintains that while no widespread Satanic network has been proven, some patients’ memories may contain historical truth. The book delivers practical, evidence‑based principles and techniques for treating individuals affected by SRA, particularly those with multiple personality (dissociative identity) disorders. Ross advocates a balanced therapeutic stance—neither outright disbelief nor blind credulity—and recommends consistent interventions regardless of the veracity of the memories. This approach bridges the gap between clinicians who lean toward a 'believer' position and those who emphasize false‑memory theory, making the work a valuable resource for therapists and psychiatrists navigating this complex clinical terrain.
