Books like The anatomy of dreams by Chloe Benjamin

Set in 1998, the story follows Sylvie Patterson, a bookish student at a Northern California boarding school, and her spirited classmate Gabe as they become deeply involved with Dr. Adrian Keller, a charismatic medical researcher devoted to the therapeutic potential of lucid dreaming. Over six years, Sylvie and Gabe accompany Keller from the redwood forests of Eureka to the New England coast, learning to gain awareness during sleep to relieve stress and heal trauma. When an opportunity brings them to the Midwest, the trio confronts a tangled relationship with mysterious neighbors and Sylvie begins to doubt Keller's research ethics, recognizing the harm that can be inflicted under the guise of progress. As she navigates the hazy boundaries between reality and illusion, Sylvie grapples with unexpected infatuation, growing paranoia, and rebellion, while the narrative explores the slippery nature of trust and the immense power of dreams.
