Books like Lessons in heartbreak by Cathy Kelly

Izzie Silver’s move from the small Irish town of Tamarin to New York is driven by her ambition to launch a model agency for plus‑size women—a vision her grandmother would proudly support. Life in the city goes well until she breaks a cardinal rule: she falls for a married man. Across the ocean, her aunt Anneliese learns the painful sting of infidelity when her husband Edward becomes involved with her best friend, Nell. Alone and angered, Anneliese wrestles with the loss of her marriage. The family's cohesion is tested again when matriarch Lily becomes ill; the members must momentarily set aside their own conflicts. As Izzie investigates Lily’s past and discovers hidden wisdom, Anneliese confronts mounting despair while Lily’s health deteriorates. The novel follows each woman’s journey through joy and heartbreak, exposing the lessons they carry forward.
