Determined to prove his innocence, she must rely on her homeland’s top investigative officer, FBI Agent John Straker, with whom the family has a fraught history. Straker, recovering from duty‑related gunshot wounds, finds himself reluctant but compelled to protect RRiley as danger looms and the trail leads to a darker, hidden killer. Their partnership, built on tension and trust, forces both to confront family secrets and the harsh truths beneath the waves. A fast‑paced story that blends romantic tension, forensic investigation, and the perils of marine research, painting a vivid picture of how personal loyalties and professional duty collide in the pursuit of justice.
