Books like Insanity by Cameron Jace

After an accidental tragedy leaves her blamed for killing everyone in her class, Alice Wonder finds herself a patient at Radcliffe Lunatic Asylum, where visions of a decaying Wonderland linger. Professor Caterpillar, a hookah‑smoking scholar, believes Alice can prove her sanity by decoding Lewis Carroll‑inspired paintings and photographs to locate the real‑world analogue of Wonderland. He persuades the asylum that Alice’s unique perspective can help capture monsters reborn as modern criminals. As Alice alternates between Oxford student life and asylum nights, she must decide whether the line between sanity and madness can truly be crossed—especially when she encounters Jack Diamond, a charismatic college student who treats nonsense as a disciplined science. The novel sets the stage for the Mad in Wonderland series, blending mystery, fantasy, and a reimagined Alice in Wonderland tale.
