Books like The Candlestone (Dragons in Our Midst #2) by Bryan Davis

Following the adventure of Rising Dragons, Billy Bannister and Bonnie Silver find themselves testing their courage against a powerful dragon slayer in The Candlestone. Separated from friends and deprived of dragon abilities, Billy must master unseen swords and shields to survive. Bonnie is lured into a scientist’s laboratory where revelations surface: her mother remains alive, and the scientist claims to be her father and the keeper of dragon blood’s secrets. To aid his research, Bonnie must retrieve her mother from the candlestone—an ancient, paralyzing gem that steals light and the strength of dragons. The candlestone also houses souls turned into pure energy by Excalibur, King Arthur’s legendary sword. Inside its crystalline prison, Bonnie discovers the tormented histories of those trapped, while Billy battles ancient fiends and the darkness of the gem’s walls, seeking a way to break the curse and reunite with Bonnie.
