Books like Heavy weather by Bruce Sterling

Heavy Weather follows a world devastated by unprecedented climate change, triggered by a planetary dislocation that leaves the Southern United States in a perpetual state of violent, large‑scale tornado activity. Amid the chaos, a genius mathematician creates sophisticated weather models that predict an impending cataclysmic tornado, threatening to upend civilization. A rag‑tag crew of gypsy‑style scientists, traveling in vans and motor homes, tracks the escalating storms while developing and testing hardware and software designed to survive the extreme conditions. Their journey exposes them to harsh environmental forces, violent social upheaval, and cutting‑edge biotechnological experiments involving DNA and weather manipulation. Through tight, well‑defined scenes, the novel blends cyberpunk aesthetics with hard science, exploring themes of survival, innovation, and humanity’s fragile relationship with nature.
