Books like The photograph by Beverly Lewis

Eva Esch finds herself and her three unmarried sisters in a tight spot after their widowed mother passes. Her older brother’s plan to bring his growing family back to the Eden Valley farmhouse forces Eva’s sisters into a dilemma: marry within a year or relocate to Indiana to live with an elderly great aunt. Eva desires marriage but hesitates to abandon her beloved sweet shop and the comfort of her farmers’ wife role. The mystery deepens when younger sister Lily disappears, leaving only a brief note, hinting that Lily may have left for a life outside the Amish community. Complicating her decisions, Jed Stutzman, a young Amish buggy maker from Ohio, enters Eva’s market in Lancaster offering a photograph of a Plain woman. Eva feels an instant, powerful connection to his presence and to the woman in the photograph—who turns out to be someone unexpected. Navigating family expectations, community traditions, and unexpected romance, Eva confronts what it means to stay or to step into the unknown.
