After her father's departure following a divorce, 18‑year‑old María Hernandez finds herself disconnected from her family and her own dreams of becoming a writer. She must take a job as a house‑sitter for her mother in the wealthy, often snobbish town of Palm Springs.
All of this changes when María meets Paul Strobe, the affluent boy next door. Paul’s easy‑going nature and striking blue eyes break through María’s defenses and instantly make Palm Springs feel like a place of possibility.
