Petaybee is a unique sentient planet that has long resisted exploitation by InterGal Corporation, a corporate empire eager to mine its resources. Guided by guardian Yana Maddock and her loyal ally Sean Shongili, the planet’s defenders—including the twin children Ronan and Murel—have thwarted every corporate invasion to date. Now InterGal unleashes a coordinated attack: they arrest the off‑world champion Marmion de Revers Algemeine on false charges while their military arm launches a direct assault on Petaybee. Marmion’s influence within the corporation may help halt the invasion, but time is short. Meanwhile, Ronan and Murel are captured and imprisoned on a barren world where Dr. Mabo plans to continue her shape‑changing experiments. The twins’ escape hinges on the uncharted depths of the prison planet’s seas, where unknown dangers await. The novel culminates in a high‑stakes battle for Petaybee’s freedom, testing the limits of the planet’s self‑governance, the twins’ resilience, and the allies’ resolve.
