Books like Faller by Will McIntosh

When the first day dawns, no one remembers who they are, their loved ones, or even how to read. Reality has fractured, leaving Earth a scattering of islands suspended in an endless sky, with food, water, and electricity gone. Faller clutching a photo of himself and an unrecognised woman, a toy soldier parachute, and a mysterious blood‑drawn map, makes a daring leap from the edge of the world. Guided only by these scarce clues, he navigates a dystopian landscape where floating islands mirror each other, populated by impossible replicas of himself and others. As he seeks the woman, he learns that a man driven by hatred seeks revenge for acts Faller cannot recall. The story is a tense, introspective journey through a fractured memory and a collapsed society, where the line between past and present blurs over a sky‑borne wasteland.
