Books like Athlete vs. mathlete by W. C. Mack

Owen Mack, a basketball‑obsessed teen, earns the last spot at his town’s local basketball camp, but his adventurous twin brother Russ takes the place of a newly formed Multi‑Sport Sampler camp. While Russ dives into learning about a variety of sports and finds inspiration in their diversity, Owen battles frustration and self‑doubt as he struggles to become a star athlete. The film explores sibling rivalry, the challenges of coping with competition, and the path to personal growth and mutual respect. As the brothers confront their different interests, they confront feelings of jealousy, misplaced confidence, and a strong drive to please their family. Through their experiences at contrasting camps, the twins discover that competition can inspire collaboration and that true talent often emerges through patience and self‑acceptance.
