Books like Chaos by Tom O'Neill

For two decades, investigative journalist Tom O’Neill pursued the story of the Charles Manson murders, a crime that shook America and ended an era of free love. His research led him to a trove of unpublished police and FBI documents, CIA files, and dozens of interviews that point to systematic cover‑ups, legal mistakes, and possible intelligence‑agency surveillance surrounding the murders of seven people, including actress Sharon Tate. O’Neill’s book charts a trail from Hollywood’s countercultural scene to the shadowy practices of the CIA’s mind‑control programs, exposing unanswered questions about Manson’s Hollywood allies, the failure of law enforcement to intervene, and the transformation of a cult of hippies into assassins. The work suggests that the official verdict may warrant reconsideration and offers a new, unsettling perspective on a pivotal moment in American history.
