Wells Whitaker, once hailed as golf’s future star, now struggles with a disappointing season, broken clubs, and a lingering hangover. Despite his setbacks, his loyal fan – the bright‑haired journalist Josephine Doyle – remains perched on the sidelines, cheering invisibly. When Wells quits the tour in a dramatic blaze of glory, he realizes he’s lost more than a card; he’s lost a chance at love. Determined to prove himself and secure his future, he returns to Josephine’s doorstep with a bold proposal: become his caddy, help him rebuild his game, and share the prize money. For Josephine, whose career and personal life are in both disarray, the offer comes with a tempting financial lifeline. The pair road‑trips across courses, share quiet hotel nights, and slowly rebuild their relationship. Wells regains momentum on the green, while Josephine discovers that the tough, gruff athlete harbors empathy and tenderness. Their evolving dynamic and shared ambitions raise the stakes: a boss‑and‑employee relationship spun into a heartening romance amid the high‑stakes world of professional golf.
