Chris Kyle’s memoir chronicles his career as a U.S. Navy SEAL sniper, detailing his 150 confirmed kills during the Iraq and Afghan wars and offering a raw, personal account of combat life.

On a clear night in June 2005, four Navy SEALs left their Afghanistan base for the Pakistani border on a mission to capture or kill a notorious al Qaeda leader. This is the story of fire team leader Marcus Luttrell and that desperate battle in the mountains. It is the story of the teammates who fought ferociously beside him until he was the last one left. And it is the story of how, badly injured, Luttrell fought off assassins for four days before being taken in by a Pashtun tribe that risked everything to protect him from the Taliban.

Chief Petty Officer James "Patches" Watson chronicles his three tours of duty as a point man with the U.S. Navy SEALs in Vietnam, detailing the perilous work of following jungle patrols, detecting booby traps, and leading amphibious demolition teams.

"Bin Laden killed in Pakistan." The day after SEAL Team Six captured and killed Osama Bin Laden, my phone started ringing off the hook. I answered, "They trained harder than anybody else in the world. They trained for the insertion, actions on the objective, lots of shooting in the shooting house, breaching, emergency medicine, commo, contingencies, hostage handling, intel searches, and for the extraction." And as I spoke, I felt a strong sense of affirmation. Now fifty-three years old and a veteran of many ops, scrapes with death, broken bones, and ruined marriages, I knew that every minute of my time with the SEALs had been worth it. - Jacket.
