Books like A fall of marigolds by Susan Meissner

In September 1911, Clara Wood, a nurse on Ellis Island, mourns the death of the man she loved in the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire. While caring for a feverish immigrant, she discovers a name embroidered on his scarf that compels her to question the truth about her own past. Fast‑forward a hundred years to September 2011, Taryn Michaels, a widow living on Manhattan’s Upper West Side and managing a specialty fabric shop, is stunned when a photograph in a national magazine forces her to relive the day her husband died in the September 11 attacks. The same day a stranger saved her during the collapse, a thread of fate tied to the scarf emerges once again. Both storylines explore grief, memory, and the unexpected ways history can bind strangers across time. The novel follows each woman's internal struggle as they confront long‑held assumptions and seek freedom or devastation in what they discover.
